Skandagiri Hills

Skandgiri is a beautiful hill town near Bangalore, which is famous for trekking and sightseeing and is also known as Kalavara Durga among the locals. Surrounded by the Nandi Hills, it lies at an elevation of 1450 metres. It is known that Skandgiri was once home to a majestic fort built by Tipu Sultan, who was the ruler of the kingdom of Mysore in the eighteenth century. When the battle between his kingdom and the Britisher’s was lost, there was a shift in the power to the British officials.

Nandi Hills

Nandi Hills, also known as Nandidurg or Nandi Betta is an ancient hill fortress situated in a district called Chikkabalapur in Karnataka. Situated near the town of Nandi, the ancient belief is that they are the origin of the Arkavathy River.he ancient Dravidian temple dedicated to the Nandi statue that is located here is responsible for the hills getting their so-called name.

Jarmadagu

Jaramadagu Falls is a seasonal waterfall situated in the midst of greenery. The waterfall is located in the forest area of Ketenajhalli in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. It is one of the driest districts of Karnataka. The 2 tiered waterfall drops down from a height of 90 feet amidst five mountains namely, Brahmagiri, Divyagiri, Nandagiri, Skandagiri and Vishnugiri.

Kaurava Kunda

This is a twin hill with one peak called “Kaurava betta” and another one as “Pandava betta”. Kauravas represents the descendants of Kuru clan, which includes Pandavas as well and hence the name Kaurava Kunda. There is an ancient Shiva temple on the way to the peak. Once you reach the top, you can get stunned by the mesmerizing view of Nandi Hills and Skandagiri Hills, with clouds beneath you. The feeling is amazing with the adrenaline rushing down when the sun is rising up.

Rangasthala

The main attraction of Rangasthala is a beautiful temple of lord Ranganatha (lord Visnu). The idols of lord Ranganatha at Rangastla, Srirangam and Srirangapatna were installed on same day and same time. The temple architecture is in Vijayanagar style. Outside Gopuram was constructed by Vijayanagara Kings. The garbhagriha looks like shape of a Bamboo Basket.
